Specifications include, but are not limited to:Material Specification Material must meet the following specification: Winter Maintenance Sand Material per the following specifications: Screen Sizes O/C Passing 3/8” square 100% 1/4” square 70-100% U.S. #10 20-60% U.S. #100 0-3% U.S. #200 0-2.5% LA Wear 25 Max A representative from WSDOT will inspect and sample material prior to delivery. No material shall be delivered until the vendor has been advised by WSDOT, in writing, that the material meets specification. To ensure quality of material after delivery WSDOT may take random samples of the material. WSDOT will not pay for material that does not meet the specifications provided for in this solicitation. The sand is used in WSDOT trucks equipped with hydraulically operated augers, chain flights, and spinners. Contaminants exceeding the material requirement specified above shall be justifiable cause for rejection of the material at the sole discretion of WSDOT. If contaminants are discovered in the material already delivered to the WSDOT ICPs, the material shall be removed by and at the expense of the vendor. Material shall be quoted, ordered, and paid for by the cubic yard. If shipment is made by scale weight, the conversion will be 1.45 tons per cubic yard per WSDOT Design Manual (M22-01.06, Section 620). Delivery must be made within 7 business days after receipt of a signed purchase order from WSDOT but not before inspection and acceptance of ordered material.
