Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. As many program activities will take place within a prison facility working directly with incarcerated individuals, the successful bidder must comply with formal approval procedures from the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) to receive these funds, to include: a. Establishing a contract and/or Interagency Agreement with DOC b. Completing facility clearance screenings and training required for access to facilities. c. Ensuring that any partner who will be providing services within prison facilities comply with formal approval clearance and training procedures from DOC. 2. Provide IT related training and/or prospect building opportunities for incarcerated individuals during the three to five (3-5) month period, prior to their release. These activities should be: a. Geographically focused, based on where “home” is expected to be post-release. b. Learner-centered, taking into account learning style and the assets and interests of the participant. c. Contextualized to specific job opportunities. d. Providing direct workplace connections for participants. This is difficult to accomplish with incarcerated individuals, although less so for individuals eligible for external pre-release activities. i. Workplace connections can be used to bring the incarcerated individual to the workplace or to bring the workplace to the incarcerated individual. ii. This may include approaches such as, but not limited to: 1. Supervised remote video visits and job-shadowing 2. One-to-one or one to small group mentoring
