Specifications include, but are not limited to: The new door must be solid to prevent pest intrusion and mitigate vandalism attempts when closed. The door shall keep out harsh weather, including but not limited to snow, and shall have proper sealing to mitigate access by birds, rodents, and be resistant to tampering and vandalism. The door shall enclose the entire door opening. The door must be easily opened via a motorized operator/opener and for emergencies have a floor level manual hoist chain or equal manual opener. The motorized operator shall have an easily operable interior push button control with up/down/stop function. There shall be no exterior operator control for this installation. A wall mount keeper must be provided to secure the chain when not in use. The new door and operator shall have code-compliant safety features to prevent injury and property damage, including a safety eye. Approximate Size: Opening width 31-7”. Opening height 14’-1”. Contractor must verify all field dimensions. Color: Tan (to match building as best as possible). As available from manufactures standard paint color selection. Operator: Provide an Industrial or Commercial rated Operator meeting the requirements of UL 325 for Commercial Operators. Electrical Requirements: Max 120v, single phase. No obstacle or fixture changes will be allowed in the loading bay enclosed by the door. Desired Product Specifications: These specifications have no specific requirements, but will factor into the evaluation of proposals submitted in response to this solicitation. The finish of the door should offer some resistance to graffiti and to emulsifiers used to remove graffiti. Parts for the operator and door should be easily obtainable on the local market, so that qualified WSDOT employees may easily perform repairs and maintenance on the units to extend their life as much as possible. Extended warranties for door and operator, and long life expectancy for door and operator. As part of its responsibility to Washington taxpayers, WSDOT wishes to prolong the life of its equipment and infrastructure as long as is efficiently and safely possible.
