Specifications include, but are not limited to: Pierce Trips views car-sharing as a support tool that will help people use travel modes other than SOV. The goal of this project is to decrease SOV trips through the promotion of car-sharing. A viable car- sharing program will become a component of Pierce County s trip reduction "tool box." We propose to make car-sharing a viable support service by marketing the concept of car-sharing and providing incentives that will entice new membership or increase/retain current membership usage of the programs. For the purpose of this proposal, members may include businesses, residential groups such as home owner associations, or individuals. The purpose of this request is not to select a car-sharing organization (CSO) for governmental operation of a car-sharing program. The purposes of this request are to 1) coordinate marketing with the chosen private CSOs and 2) manage membership incentives through the CSOs. Interested CSOs will be responsible for securing agreements with jurisdiction or employers located within Pierce County to operate their car-sharing program
