The Work generally consists of performing improvements and repairs to the Quad A Thermophilic Digesters Towers at the City of Tacoma Central Wastewater Treatment Plant (CTP). This includes cleaning, preparing, and coating the interior concrete surfaces of the four (4) A Quad towers; removing, protecting, storing, and reinstalling the four (4) mixers, 35-FT long mixer shafts, and steel support plates; replacing four (4) mixer gear boxes and motors; replacing approximately 100-LF of 6-Inch discharge piping and fittings; replacing and/or recoating metal lids, grates, and angles; preparing and recoating the handrails on top of the four (4) towers, cleaning, preparing, containing, and recoating all surfaces inside the Quad A Distribution Boxes; replacing approximately 50-LF of stairway railing; installing four (4) access hatches with additional reinforced concrete and Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) into each tower near ground level; removing and replacing portions of the existing Quad Tower A exterior insulation system to facilitate the access hatch installation; Spot repairs to the exterior insulation of Quad Towers B and C; repairs to the exterior siding of the New Digester Building; and removal of obsolete equipment and piping and associated touch-up repairs on top of the Quad Towers and inside the New Digester Building
