The purpose of this project is to upgrade the landfill gas blower control panel and associated control systems at two closed landfill sites operated by King County Solid Waste Division (SWD): the Houghton Closed Landfill located in 11724 NE 60th St, Kirkland, adjacent to the Houghton Transfer Station, and the Puyallup/Kit Corner Custodial Landfill located at South 357th Street & 20th Avenue S. Both sites were closed under former Chapter 173-301 WAC regulations and currently maintain gas extraction systems, groundwater monitoring wells, and other environmental infrastructures. To maintain system reliability, improve operational safety, and bring electrical and control components up to current standards, SWD is undertaking a project to upgrade the landfill gas blower control panels and associated control systems at both sites. These upgrades are intended to improve system performance, enhance operational control and monitoring capabilities, and bring the blower stations up to current SWD and electrical code standards.
