The major items of work include the Auburn Way South (AWS) Corridor Improvements project proposes to widen Auburn Way S (SR-164) between Hemlock St SE and Poplar St SE within the City of Auburn. These improvements include adding two additional driving lanes as well as curb, gutter, sidewalk, intermittent center medians, bus pullouts, a midblock pedestrian crossing, reconstructing Poplar St SE on a new alignment, storm drainage, pavement overlay, and illumination. The project also includes upgrading a water main between Noble Ct SE and Redwood Ct SE. The proposed bid range for the project is from $8,500,000 to $9,500,000. The entire project, including cleanup, shall be physically completed within 250 working days. Project is funded by federal grant, state grant and city funds. Requirements stipulated for Federal and other governmental funding have been incorporated into the Contract Documents and require full compliance by the Contractor and any subcontractor hired by the Contractor. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements on this project are 14% certified DBE.
