Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, and permits required for the complete and satisfactory performance of various types of lighting retrofit projects (primarily electrical tasks). 1.1 Work assignments will range in size as needed. The minimum work assignment will be a one-half (1/2) day assignment (four (4) hours) for one (1) person. Arlington Public Schools (APS) reserves the right to combine work orders requiring the same trade(s) and general location to achieve the minimum work assignment. 1.2 Work assignments may include, by way of illustration and not limitation,projects such as: 1.2.1 Removal and proper disposal of existing incandescent or compact fluorescent exit light fixtures, furnishing, and installing LED exit light fixtures as replacements throughout a building (or several buildings); 1.2.1.1 Proper disposal shall require the Contractor to remove the fixtures from APS property and follow EPA guidelines for disposal. At no time shall removed fixtures be placed in APS dumpsters. 1.2.2 Replacement of conventional wallswitches with occupancysensorsin allfacility rooms throughout a building, as part of a whole-building lighting retrofit; 1.2.3 Relocation of existing ceiling fixtures to optimize illuminationof a space, consistentwith retrofitting those fixtures for improved energy efficiency; 1.2.4 Removal and proper disposal of entire ceiling light fixtures (which may contain fluorescent ballasts containing PCBs) in older buildings,furnishing and installing energy- efficient replacement fixtures, ballasts, and lamps; 1.2.4.1 Proper disposal shall require the Contractor to remove the fixtures and ballasts from APS property and follow EPA guidelines for disposal. At no time shall the removed fixtures or ballasts be placed in APS dumpsters. 1.2.5 Removal and proper disposal of dozens of magnetic ballasts powering HID metal halide fixtures indoors, furnishing and installing electronic ballasts asreplacements; 1.2.5.1 Proper disposal shall require the Contractor to remove the ballasts from APS property and follow EPA guidelines for disposal. At no time shall the removed ballasts be placed in APS dumpsters.
