DCR is continuing efforts to improve the reservation and scheduling process, the selected system will continue, at a minimum all of the following: Provide an Internet reservation website having real-time, self-service access to making, changing, and canceling reservations 24 hours a day/7days a week/365 days a year. Allowing for payment by credit card with real time verification, and application of business rules, cancellation and transfer fees. All campground sites and cabins in the Virginia State Parks system available for rental can be reserved in advance on the Internet, from call center, and at the park. Some sites may be restricted to call center or in park rental only. All picnic shelters, community buildings, meeting rooms and other rentable facilities in the Virginia State Parks system can be reserved through the Internet, from call center, and at the park. Some sites may be restricted to call center or in park rental only. Provide a system for staff to check-in guests upon arrival or in bulk after the fact. Provide easy public access to reservation services for DCR facilities. Increase occupancy and revenues at under-utilized facilities. Promote certain parks and special events. Automate public service and management systems Optimize the amount of staff time needed to administer DCR system revenue producing facilities and reduce errors.
