Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to remove and dispose of grit, screenings, trash and debris generated from the Proctors Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (PCWWTP) and Falling Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (FCWWTP) operations. Contractor shall provide steel containers and place them at each specified location. It is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to dispose of all material at a Chesterfield County approved landfill. It is the County’s preference that the Contractor use the Shoosmith Landfill located at 11800 Lewis Road, Chester, VA 23831. Collections shall be made as scheduled regardless if the day is a County or Contractor holiday. Scheduled pickups at the plants shall be made beween 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The Contractor shall sign in at the main plant office and make contact with the plant operator on duty for each pickup. The normal schedule for pickups are normally as shown on the Bid Form Pricing Schedule. The expected number, capacities and locations of containers are as listed on the Pricing Schedule. The Contractor shall make extra pickups when required and correct omitted or unsatisfactory collections within four (4) hours after notification during the above noted hours for the twenty cubic yard containers and within eight (8) hours for the four cubic yard containers. The Contractor shall provide a contact person and 24 hour phone number for night, weekend, holiday and extra or corrective pickup requirements. Prices shall be the same for each pickup regardless of actual container quantities and pick up frequencies. Containers shall be maintained, kept clean and in sanitary condition. Prior to dumping a full container an empty container shall be onsite to replace the existing container prior to disposal. When dumped, all containers shall be completely emptied of all grit, screenings, trash and debris and if needed, sprayed with a disinfecting spray, inside and out. Any container that, in the sole opinion of the County, becomes unserviceable shall be immediately replaced by the Contractor at no additional expense to the County. Contractor shall perform maintenance on all containers on a quarterly basis. Maintenance shall include repairs as needed due to normal wear and tear, cleaning, sanitizing and repainting as needed.
