Specifications include, but are not limited to: PART – 1- GENERAL REQUIREMENTS QUALITY ASSURANCE Mowing services- Prior to the commencement of the contract, the contractor shall meet with the Hampton Public Works representative or designee and provide an outline of the proposed mowing procedures, the plan for performing the work, and a plan for the safety of the general public. Prior to initiation of service, the contractor shall submit for the approval of the Hampton Public Works representative or designee a monthly schedule for the year, which identifies the service dates or day of the week (when weekly service is required) per location. The contractor shall complete all mowing within the estimated mowing schedule, unless notified otherwise by Hampton Public Works representative or designee. Contractor will supply a weekly report of all work performed. Under normal weather conditions, it is estimated that each location will require the number of mowing trips as identified in Mowing Schedule. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Contactors shall have the following VDACS License; 3A Ornamental, 3B Turf, 5A Aquatic and a Category 6 right-of-way VDACS License and a Registered Pesticide Business License through VDACS. Comply with regulatory agencies for fertilizer and herbicide composition. Contractor shall follow all regulations, ordinance, and code governing the work, including but not limited to permitting and inspections. PART - 2 - PROJECT CONDITIONS Contractor shall inspect the project area maps to become aware of the project conditions and requirements before submitting a bid. See attached maps. Sequence maintenance to ensure orderly and expeditious upkeep affecting traffic as minimal as possible. As required by project site, coordinate maintenance with existing underground sprinkler system pipe and watering Watering heads so as to not to disturb service. PART – 3 - PRODUCTS COMMERCIAL FERTILIZERS Commercial fertilizer shall comply with the State Fertilizer Laws. Numerical designation for fertilizer indicates the minimum percentage respectively of (1) total nitrogen, (2) available phosphoric acid, and (3) water soluble potash contained in the fertilizer. Fertilizer analysis will be determined by the recommendations provided by soil test and approved by City Agent. WATER Contractor shall work with Hampton Public Works representative or designee on supply and application of all water. FERTILIZER SPREADER Contractor shall use a device for spreading the fertilizer capable of uniformly distributing the material at required rates. HERBICIDES The Contractor shall select, provide, and apply all herbicides as required with prior notification and approval of Hampton Public Works representative or designee and by VDACS licensed applicator.
