The project consist of the renovation of historic cabins and non-historic cabins at 2 State Parks- First Landing and Westmoreland . At First Landing there are 6 historic cabins and 14 non historic concrete block cabins and at Westmoreland there are 11 historic log cabins, 2 historic frame cabins, 6 historic camping cabins and 6 non historic concrete block cabins. The cabins range in size from 700 – 1200 square feet each, and consist of one and two bedroom cabins. The historic camping cabins are 300 square feet. The scope of renovation work for historic cabins includes all existing trim, doors, windows, log walls and beams, metal hardware, stone fireplaces, stone porch flooring which will be restored in place. New kitchens and bathrooms along with new mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems will be added to the log cabins in the most sensitive manner. Roof coverings will be replaced on all log cabins. On the non-historic cabins a complete renovation which will include new kitchens, new bathrooms, flooring, windows, roofing, exterior siding, and new mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
