Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rivers Edge Park is arguably the premier park within the Roanoke Valley consisting of multiple athletic facilities, trails, playgrounds, public spaces, river access, and special event venues. The park is divided by the Roanoke River such that there is both a northern and southern portion of the overall park. Located at 304 Reserve Avenue, Rivers Edge North consists of approximately 32 acres containing Maher Baseball Field, a six-court tennis complex, and newly installed athletic Bermuda fields. The two new fields contain sports lighting, irrigation, non-potable well system, drainage systems, as well as base grading for the future parking and access road. This project is generally described as the re-development of the River’s Edge North Park Phase I Improvements to supplement the new athletic fields, generally consisting of the construction of paved parking lots, gathering areas, and associated utility improvements for the enhancement of the existing park facility. The contractor will be expected to build the hardscape and utility aspects of the improvements consisting of but not limited to paved parking areas, a park access road, concrete walkways, social gathering and seating spaces, lighting for vehicular and pedestrian spaces, a greenway trail connector, potable water connections and fixtures, architectural elements, and landscaping. Contractor is expected to fully coordinate with and maintain positive working relationships with local utility agencies such as necessary to make these improvements fully functional. All construction related permits are the responsibility of the Contractor.
