Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) performs background investigations for every employee, contractor that are allowed access to our facilities. In order to serve our community as efficiently and safely as possible, our Background Investigations Unit (BIU) play a vital role in the employment process, by completing approximately 5000 plus background investigations per year. A modern case management tool is needed to manage background investigations. This system must be: Relatively low maintenance Able to interface with Commonwealth of Virginia Systems and Networks; Active Directory, OKTA, Single Sign-on, etc. Provide an interface for VADOC Employees, outside of BIU, to request and track background investigations Able to support a case management workflow Able to store case related data including; demographics, contacts and case history Able to assign cases to teams or individual staff members Able to provide audit logs Able to create reports, both predefined and ad-hoc Able to restrict access based on user role and/or permissions of the targeted file(s) or object(s) Able to support multiple levels of role based security to enforce strict access control Able to manage access and security roles centrally
