Specifications include, but are not limited to: SWIFT CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1. Contractor to relocate misc equipment to another location on this same school site. 2. CCPS will remove fence around playground #4 prior to contractor's work. 3. Contractor REMOVAL includes: (all items kept unless directed to dispose of) a. Removing (2) playgrounds, labeled #1 and #4 shown on site map b. Removing (3) metal benches and (2) sensory panels shown on site map c. Removal of wooden timber borders at playground #1 and dispose of off site d. Removal of pvc black borders at playground #4 and stockpile for reinstallation e. Removal of (2) pvc ramps (1 ramp at each playground) f. Remove concrete footers from all existing posts and dispose of concrete off site. If the contractor damages any post while removing concrete, it will be their responsibility to replace any post at no cost to CCPS. g. Contractor shall fill holes where posts were removed with compacted fill dirt to 95% compaction. Mulch can be left in its original location. 4. Contractor INSTALLATION includes: a. Reinstall the playground #1 and #4 at a new location at Swift Creek ES b. Reinstall the (3) metal benches and (2) sensory panels at a new location at Swift Creek ES. c. Provide and install new pvc black border for playground #1. Playground will be the same size as the existing playground. d. Reinstall stockpiled pvc black borders at new location of playground #4. e. Reinstall (2) pvc ramps at the new location for playground #1 and #4 f. Provide and install new EWF for playground #1 and #4 to meet all CPSC playground safety requirements as well as all ASTM standards and guidelines. g. Provide and install underground drainage at playground #1 & #4 h. CCPS will install a fence around each playground so the final dimensions of the new playgrounds need to be rectangular or square (whichever is applicable). We also require that the ramp is installed recessed into the playground. 5. Contractor shall fine grade site around new playgrounds, seed and straw 6. Dirt removed from footing excavations can be spread by the Contractor at low areas on site as directed by CCPS PM, but must be fine graded, seeded and straw OR contractor can haul off site 7. REMOVAL SCHEDULE: Contractor can begin removal of playgrounds #1 and #4 on 5/1/2024 and must be completed before 5/17/2024. 8. REINSTALLATION SCHEDULE : Contractor shall have new playgrounds installed no Later than 6/28/2024. General Notes that APPLY 9. Contractor shall secure items (equipment, borders etc) to be reinstalled. Orange fence barricade minimum. Contractor to decide if they want to use chain link. Any loss of equipment or materials will be replaced by the contractor at no cost to CCPS. 10. Contractor shall enclose their worksite with a minimum of orange fence 11. All playground footers shall be installed with ready mix concrete from a plant and cure to at least 3500 psi. Orange fence shall remain for at least 14 days or until psi is obtained. 12. CCPS will have an engineer testing firm on site to verify footer excavations and collect concrete cylinders that will be tested on day 3, 7, 14, 21 and again on day 56 if needed. A PSI of 3,500 shall be obtained before the playground can be opened to the public. If the concrete does not reach the minimum required strength, the contractor shall remove and replace the footers with new concrete at no cost to the owner. 13. CCPS will provide a hard surface walkway to the contractor installed playground pvc ramp. 14. CCPS shall install permanent fencing around playgrounds. Contractor to work with CCPS on ramp location to best fit gates and access points. 15. All installation contractors shall be CPSI certified.(Certified Playground Safety Inspector). 16. Work hours are generally Monday - Friday between the hours of 7am - 5pm. Work outside of these hours is an option but must be coordinated with the CCPS PM. All work shall be scheduled with CCPS PM. 17. Restrooms: Contractor shall provide temporary restroom facilities. Contractor(s) will not be permitted to use the school restrooms. 18. Permits: No CC permit is required. 19. Any deviation from the above specifications and scope to include those that involve costs will be executed only upon approval Chesterfield County Procurement. 20. Contractors are required to check in & out at the main office everyday they are on site AND also text the CCPS PM and other county employees as determined by CCPS PM.
