Specifications include, but are not limited to: Your firm is invited to submit your Statement of Qualifications to become eligible for a possible interview for professional services related to the development of a prospectus which identifies strategies to market and develop the Wheatland EcoPark consisting of approximately 130 acres of developable land on U. S. Route 460 in the Eastern District of Giles County which has been designated as an Opportunity Zone. The property is located adjacent to Eastern Elementary Middle School. Nanosonic which is involved in research, development and manufacturing of innovative materials for various uses is located in the EcoPark. The property is a 15 minute drive from Virginia Tech. The prospectus will also address other areas of the County with a focus on economic development opportunities, housing and other needs to provide for growth, revitalization and economic restructuring. Funding for this project is provided by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development through Community Development Block Grant funds.
