Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 The Contractor shall pick-up infectious waste, expired scheduled VI drugs and over the counter drugs from the Agency’s facility, building #110, Hiram W. Davis Medical Center twice per week. Scheduled pickups may change depending on agency’s volume. If pick up day falls on a state holiday, Contractor shall pick up the last day before holiday begins. 2.2 Contractor shall be responsible for transportation of the infectious waste, Schedule VI drugs, and Over the Counter Drugs including but not limited to; labeling, manifesting, over packing, loading, unloading, transporting, and reporting as indicated by the Agency and as directed by regulation. 2.3 The Contractor shall provide the Agency with Commonwealth of Virginia state approved containers (boxes & bags), including labels and symbols. The boxes shall be doublewalled corrugated fiberboard box of at least 275 pound test strength. The size of the boxes shall be no less 17” x 17” x 23”. The bags shall be 45-50 gallons, red in color, and shall meet the latest ASTM drop weight test. 2.4 The Contractor shall load packed boxes for transport in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia guidelines and/or Department of Transportation (VDOT) regulations for transportation of infectious materials. 2.5 The Contractor shall provide the Agency with a signed ticked verifying the number of containers picked up at the time of collection. A signed manifest shall be provided to the Agency upon incineration verifying the exact number of containers incinerated. Separate tickets and manifests shall be provided for each pick-up and incineration.
