Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1. Evaluate the worker’s physical condition and ability to safely perform all required job functions. 3.2. Determine baseline or reference data to help evaluate the significance of future examination findings. 3.3. Assess the worker’s capability for proper use of protective equipment. 3.4. Identify health factors that may adversely impact individual, work unit or job category performance (for example, those health factors impacting CDL employees required to have a Medical Examiner’s Certificate; employees required to work a shift schedule; employees with safety-sensitive duties like police officers and firefighters). Conduct related research, data analysis, propose recommendations and provide interventions. 3.5. Provide health promotion services responding to diseases and medical conditions that could adversely impact employee health, productivity and health plan use. 3.6. Identify and provide health and productivity management strategies and interventions to avoid unnecessary costs associated with employee absence, turnover, disability, accidents, overtime, workers’ compensation claims; and, performance issues.
