Specifications include, but are not limited to: ENGINEERED WOOD FIBER Engineered Wood Fiber (EWF) is processed wood that is ground to a fibrous consistency randomly sized, approximately ten times longer than wide with a maximum length of 2 in., free of hazardous substances. The EWF is to be manufactured from clean hardwood. The use of recycled wood, wood pallets or waste wood is not to be permitted. The material must be cleaned of soil, leaves, bark and twigs as well as any other material that would accelerate the decomposition of the wood fiber. The EWF is not to be chemically treated or to have any additives added to the material. DOUBLED SHREDDED HARDWOOD MULCH Mulch shall be of good quality, uniform in texture and color, suitable for landscaping applications. WOOD CHIPS Wood chips shall be hardwood, clean, good quality, uniform, square chips approximately 1 inch to 2 inches, suitable for landscaping applications. Wood chips shall be from whole trees chipping, chips shall come from trunks and limbs which are no smaller than six inches in diameter.
