Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor will be required to mobilize and respond to any situation, at the request of the City, within two (2) hours of notification. Typical response situations may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Spills/releases on, or impacting City property, rights-of-way and other public spaces such as waterways and water bodies; 2. Abandoned suspect, hazardous or potentially hazardous materials identified on City property and other public spaces such as waterways and water bodies; 3. Vehicular accidents involving hazardous materials and/or wastes; 4. Disaster or other emergency incidents where hazardous materials control, containment, collection, transport, and/or disposal is necessary. B. The Contractor may be required to collect, containerize, transport, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials generated during normal City operations and/or as a result of the incident examples given in parts A 1-4 immediately above . C. All work performed by the Contractor, including but not limited to: the establishment and maintenance of a safe working environment, worker protection, response activities, labeling, manifesting, transporting and disposing of hazardous and nonhazardous materials, shall adhere to all applicable requirements and provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations as they pertain to the Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security (Federal Emergency Management Agency – FEMA), as well as the applicable rules and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the City of Roanoke.
