Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Inspections of the fire alarm and sprinkler system shall be performed on a quarterly basis. One fourth of the facility must be inspected each quarter. 1. Hydrant flow test. 2. Flow all systems through inspection test and 2” drain, and tag systems. 3. Exercise all OS and Y control valves (seal). 4. Check all hand hose connections (thread, seal, etc.). 5. Visual inspections of all sprinkler covered areas. 6. Service external ethylene glycol systems annually (2 systems). 7. Check accuracy of pressure gauges annually. 8. Flow test remaining drains quarterly. 9. Conduct a backflow prevention device inspection and test annually. 10. Test control panel(s) for proper operation including: a) Complete functional test of all components or modules. b) Emergency power switchboard. c) Batteries shall be tested with amperage meter to determine condition. d) Test control functions shall be done using software necessary for each system. e) Test all audible alarm devices (as permitted by Agency) for proper operation. f) Must be able to repair Notifier panels to include software troubleshooting. B. Contractor shall be licensed and bonded to use applicable/necessary systems software to ensure accurate testing and repairs. (Fire Alarm Systems are Notifier NFS – 640 and NFS – 3030)
