Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bunk Room and Day Room Wooden Furniture: 1. Classic Custom Twin XL Firehouse Bed manufactured by This End Up or equal. i. Dimensions- 85” L x 42” D with 36” tall headboard and 31” tall footboard; under bed clearance 19 ¾”. ii. Raw Material- Solid Kiln dried Yellow Pine- Furniture Grade lumber with a specific humidity of not more than 15%. iii. Construction- Head and foot boards will be 3 ply construction made of solid 1”x 4” and 1”x 6” boards. Panels will be glued, nailed and clamped in a hydraulic press under 140 – 180 pounds per square inch of pressure. Panels will be sanded and edges routed to provide a smooth finished surface and eliminate sharp edges. Side Rails will be constructed of solid Yellow Pine 5-1/4” wide x1-5/16” thick. Rails will have pilot holes in each end to accept two lag bolts per end. Cleats for bed support will be 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” solid wood Yellow Pine glued and nailed with 2-3/8” nails. Side rails will be sanded and routed to provide a smooth finish and eliminate sharp edges. iv. Finish- Classic Honey Pine 2. Classic Drawer Table SKU 02005 manufactured by This End Up or Equal i. Dimensions- 19” L x 18” D x 23” H ii. Raw Material- Solid Kiln dried Yellow Pine- Furniture Grade lumber with a specific humidity of not more than 15%. iii. Construction- Ends will be constructed with 2 ply 1” x 4” and 1” x 6” boards laminated. Panels are glued and nailed with 1 ¼” nails then clamped in hydraulic presses. The hydraulic presses generate 90,000 psi bonding the ply’s of the panels together with 10 – 180 psi. Panels that are not put together with hydraulic presses and the above specifications are not acceptable. Top panel will be 2-ply with bottom ply 1” x 6” boards and top ply 1” x 4” boards framing a ¾” thick 7-ply Pine face plywood insert. Insert will be secured with 1-1/4” nails and glued. Edges will be routed and sanded for a smooth finish surface and to eliminate sharp edges. Drawer boxes will have four sides and will be constructed of 12mm 9-ply Birch glued and stapled. Drawer back has a 3/8” lip extending beyond the top of the sides which functions as a built-in drawer stop. Drawer boxes will slide on solid wood runners attached to end panels. Drawer bottom will be 3/16” Lauan plywood inserted into grooves machined into drawer front, back and sides. Wood components are sanded and routed to provide a smooth finish and eliminate sharp edges.
