Specifications include, but are not limited to:The City is seeking a qualified firm to provide design and related services for the installation of new bay doors, hardware and components to meet the on-going operational needs of the City of Alexandria's Fire Department. 1. Contractor shall provide design and detail specifications for the removal and replacement of bay door hardware and components at seven (7) fire stations in the city. Specific details on hardware that will be replaced will be determined through the design process. 2. Contractor shall perform an evaluation of the door controls and safety systems for compliance with Fire Department sequence of operations and provide documentation to the COTR of these findings. This evaluation shall be conducted after the kick-off meeting. Project design shall include correction of any deficiencies to the placement or operation of safeties and controls. 3. Contractor shall provide design and detail specifications for a complete bay door replacement at Fire Station 206. 4. Contractor shall provide normal structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering services as related to the project. 5. Contractor shall review and adhere to current and applicable codes, industry standards and regulations that will govern the project design. a. Standards include (but are not limited to): UL 325, ANSI, OSHA, NEC 6. The construction documents and the project in its entirety shall comply with the laws of the City of Alexandria and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
