The alerts may consist of delayed train information, impacts of weather, station-specific updates and special events. During interrupted service, VRE sends frequent alerts to update riders during the disruption VRE seeks to enhance communication by providing a customizable, intuitive User Interface (UI) system with minimal user processes necessary to generate content for quick distribution. VRE currently creates and sends all rider alerts. A “Bulletin” requires five (5) clicks to send and the content is manually input. An “Advanced Bulletin” requires seven (7) clicks and the content provides some prewritten text.
