Specifications include, but are not limited to: General Needs: 1. A turnkey summer drone camp offered to students in grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 for up to seven (7) weeks at ½ days, 5 days per week. It is desired that the camps be offered in the AM and PM and it is desired that the camps provide science, technology, engineering, and math skills within the drone curriculum. 2. Pricing should include instruction, the instructors fees, the fully developed curriculum, lesson plans, mobile devices, hardware, software (including software licenses), and other materials used to operate a drone summer camp program. It is desired that a company website be offered that students can access after the completion of their respective camp to access educational enrichment resources. 3. It is desired that the contractor provide week long summer camps on the following topics at the following College locations: the Chesapeake campus, the Virginia Beach campus, and the Suffolk campus. Desired topics could include: a) Drone Racing & Obstacle Course Challenges b) Drone Missions c) Drone Programming d) Drone Safety Course 4. It is desired that the camp dates begin July 9, 2018 and go through August 17, 2018. Contractor Needs: 1. Shall be responsible for all aspects of the FAA regulations as it relates to any unmanned aircraft system or model aircraft. 2. Shall be responsible for hiring and managing instructional staff necessary to provide the services described herein. 3. Provide instructional staff with competent, technical, management, and presentation expertise to deliver the courses offered under this agreement. 4. The Contractor shall have at least four to six instructors on staff at any given time available to provide services. 5. Shall provide onsite classroom management during course sessions. 6. Shall ensure that all instructors have gone through a thorough background check (including fingerprinting) prior to the start of course sessions. Verification of background checks will be required prior to the start of instruction. 7. Responsible for operating safely on college premises and using college resources (computers and classrooms) only for instructional activities for contracted camps. 8. Responsible for the safety and uphold all FAA rules and regulations at all times and ensure all UAS model aircraft are registered, marked and within weight requirements. All UAS model aircraft flown indoor or outdoor, are within FAA guidelines and regulations and the College’s policies and procedures. 9. Ensure the quality of the course instruction, materials, and student consultation leading to a highly successful experience. 10. Market the programs jointly as partners in delivering the program. 11. Provide evaluation feedback to the college. 12. Contractor shall pay all costs for the instructors to include, but not limited to, travel, lodging, salary, background checks and benefits.
