Specifications include, but are not limited to: Operates under the National Institute for Dispute Resolution model in which a coordinator screens cases to make a preliminary assessment as to whether the case is appropriate for mediation. For appropriate cases, the coordinator conducts an individual orientation session to allow the parties to learn about the options available to them. Following the orientation session, the parties may voluntarily agree to proceed with mediation, or continue with adjudication. If the parties try mediation, but do not succeed in resolving their dispute, they may return to court. The program provides Juvenile & Domestic Relations and General District Court mediation services to include custody (legal and physical), visitation, child support, spousal support, parental responsibilities, property division, postdivorce modifications and child dependency. The Contractor shall fulfill the objectives of the program described above to include, but not be limited to, the following services: a. Provide mediation services for domestic relations cases and family mediation. b. Ensure and articulate strategies for the training of staff and mediators for compliance with Virginia Code and revisions. c. Maintain court requirements/standards of all mediation services to include overview of all mediation agreements prior to submission to court.
