Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide color-coded and labeled wiring easy circuit identification emergency equipment electrical system. The Contractor shall provide consistent color codes and wire identifiers across all products, providing uniformity for the entire fleet. All wires shall be labeled every 4 inches. Electrical systems, wire harnesses, and fuse panel systems shall provide: i. Detailed Color Schematics A detailed color schematic shall be included to allow trouble shooting, repair, and programming of the system. The schematic shall depict the wire location, color, and label. The following shall be included: Detailed schematic of the main harness, fuse panel, and the light and siren controller for each installation. ii. Direct to Battery Ground Shall adhere to equipment manufacturer recommendations, reduce RFI and component to component interference. iii. Fabricated Wire Harness of High Quality TXL Copper (or equivalent) Shall exceed SAE Standard J-1128. Automotive wire shall be constructed with chemically altered polyethylene insulation, for durability and resistance to heat more than standard GPT automotive wire. Fabricated wire harness shall be resistant to moisture, grease, oil, gasoline, most acids and solvents designed to use where heat and flame resistance is a requirement.
