Specifications include, but are not limited to: The MTC Fort Pickett Range Operations Section (hereafter referred to as BUYER) is controlling problem tree growth in approximately 100 acres of range 12, and approximately 35 acres of range 13. This control shall be accomplished through the aerial application of selective chemical herbicides to control all vegetation with this site. The treatment are consists of approximately 135 acres of range. It is comprised of mostly old-field shrub-sapling growth, with a few of the acres covered with mature pine trees. The overall species mix in the treatment area is composed of approximately 60% hardwood and 40% pine (loblolly and short leaf). The entire range acreage of the treatment areas is in the down-range High-Hazard Impact Area. This area is considered to be permanently dudded by unexploded military munitions. The winning bidder (hereafter referred to as CONTRACTOR) will be able to perform landing zone and support operations from an immediately adjacent site that is not part of the impact area, and is safe for vehicle and foot traffic.
