Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Provide Class A classroom and behind the wheel training for City employees who operate combination vehicles. 2. Provide Class B classroom and behind the wheel training for City employees who operate straight vehicles. 3. The approximate number of employees needing training across all certification levels is unknown at this time but is currently estimated to be up to twenty (20) employees a year. 4. Training shall be provided by qualified and experienced instructors who have been designated as DMV approved examiners or who are awaiting final approval from DMV to execute the required DMV tests needed for licensure. 5. Classroom training and behind the wheel training may be conducted at a designated City facility or at the Successful Offerors training facility, whichever would be more efficient. Training shall be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour break period. The City may provide vehicles to be used for the behind the wheel training requirements depending on the circumstances involved. 6. Provide classroom and behind the wheel training curriculum that does not exceed a threeweek period of 40 hours per week. 7. Provide all training materials, simulators, or other classroom material in order to successfully provide instruction to City employees. 8. All training materials and instruction shall be in accordance with current Commonwealth of Virginia, Division of Motor Vehicles requirements for LP, CDL Class A and Class B requirements and recertification. 9. Propose an additional training plan for City employees that do not successfully complete the initial CDL training and obtain their CDL license. 10. Identify the minimum and maximum number of City employees that could attend the classroom and behind the wheel training. 11. The City desires that classroom and behind the wheel training sessions be limited to City employees. However, if non-City participants are included in the training, the behind the wheel portion shall be one on one, City employee and instructor only. 12. Provide refresher training as needed and requested by the City.
