Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall obtain all necessary analytical analysis to dispose of sludge materials. Sludge materials shall be pumped from the 100-foot diameter digester to dewatering equipment furnished by the Contractor. The solid debris shall be discharged into a truck or dumpster supplied by the Contractor and disposed of by the Contractor. If a belt filter press is used, the processed cake shall be emptied into a truck furnished by the Contractor and disposed of by the Contractor. The filtered liquid sludge from the dewatering unit or the filtrate from the belt filter press shall be returned to the neighboring digester man-hole. The beginning depth prior to cleaning shall be approximately 5 foot from the bottom of the straight sidewall of the tank and shall include the sloped area of the tank. A total volume of no greater than 441,000 gallons shall be removed. The Contractor shall ensure that adequate spill precautions are taken and that a spill response plan for leaks or spills from the Contractor’s equipment is in place. The spill response plan and Contractor’s proposed schedule shall be provided to the County for approval prior to the Contractor bringing any equipment on site.
