Specifications include, but are not limited to: One of the major source of maintenance repairs is water infiltration. Also given the increasing focus on energy usage, air infiltration and thermal performance are also looked upon when maintaining buildings. As such the University is soliciting for an Architecture/Engineering firm with extensive expertise in envelope design. This will include building skin, fenestration, roofing, etc. The University often needs Professional Architectural and/or Engineering assistance for discrete, small envelope projects such as investigations, studies, reports, design of small projects, envelope commissioning and related services. Project services required may include but are not limited to: architectural, site planning, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, structural engineering, as well as other related services as required. The aim of this RFP is to contract with an A/E who will agree to be available to provide these services in a timely manner, thereby reducing the Agency's cost and time for advertising and developing numerous RFP's, and generally to increase the Agency's efficiency in obtaining professional services. It is the intent of George Mason University to contract with companies capable of providing a broad range of capabilities and the flexibility to respond to diverse project sizes and types.
