Specifications include, but are not limited to: An organization with instructor(s) that are certified to provide trauma-informed yoga instruction to youth who may be dealing with histories of trauma and who are simultaneously dealing with compounded stress due to COVID-19 and distance learning. 1. Provide weekly sessions (“classes”) for 40 to 50-minute of trauma-informed yoga instruction for teens for up to 25 students. Times and locations will be determined a month in advance by mutual agreement of County and Contractor. Generally, instructors will be needed after school hours during the weekdays; however, a need for a weekend class may appear. No classes will be held on the holidays observed by the County. Arlington County will provide an indoor facility and commonly used supplies such as mats and blankets. The contractor shall supply all other needed supplies (i.e. music, audio equipment, etc.) 2. The following types of yoga instruction are preferred: A. Trauma Sensitive Yoga Practice to include: - Body awareness - Awareness of window of tolerance for injury prevention - Flexibility - Mobility - Centering - Grounding - Building self-regulation/stress regulation skills - Integration aspects of experience - Developing connection to self and others - Mindful breathing and meditation techniques B. Yoga Nidra session, iRest, Divine Sleep, or similar: - Restorative and rebalancing - Improved health - Better sleep
