The Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, fuel, labor (which includes experienced operators), supervision and incidentals (unless specified herein to be provided by VDOT) to perform brush, tree and stump grinding services on an as needed basis by the cubic yard in the following counties: Bedford, Botetourt, Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski and Roanoke. The contractor’s Equipment shall be set up on a location designated by VDOT to grind waste wood material collected by VDOT. The Contractor shall designate in writing a contract representative who shall be responsible for ensuring the services required by the VDOT are delivered in accordance with all the terms and conditions specified in this contract. The Contractor and any subcontractor shall be responsible for ensuring that appropriate safety equipment such as, but not limited to, chaps, safety glasses and steel toed boots are provided and used by employees while performing work for the VDOT. All work areas shall be maintained clean and free from safety hazards.
