1. The work shall include, but not limited to the following: a. Drain the pool(s) at the direction of Parks, Recreation, Facilities & Tourism (PRFT) personnel prior to the commencement of work; b. Pump and clean out water and debris in the pool and peripheral furnishings; c. Removal of all unbonded old plaster and surfacing material where new plaster/whitecoat is to be installed; d. After removal of the existing plaster and tile finishes, the interior surfaces of the pool shall be thoroughly cleaned of dust, oil, paint, and other loose material or foreign matter before application of any product; e. Prepare the existing pool surface for the application of exposed aggregate surface; f. Prepare all surfaces adjacent to the new finish to accept a minimum of 3/8-inch thickness of the new plaster finish; g. Remove, furnish, and replace handicap railings and anchors in accordance with all electrical and ADA requirements; h. Removal and replacement of expansion joints and joint tiling; i. Removal of non-skid tile on zero entry and replace with new tile and whitecoat; j. Removal and replacement of waterline tiles in the Lagoon, including depth markers for 2 feet and 3 feet on two sides of the lagoon; k. Remove and replace racing lane tiles; l. Replace old in-pool light fixtures with new light fixtures and be sure they are all operational at the end of the project. All pool lights and niches will have approved LED replacement fixtures, and provide sufficient wiring in the niche so that the individual fixtures can be removed and placed on the pool deck for future servicing; m. Application of Marquis – Quartz or Diamond Brite Oyster Quartz plaster with a minimum of 3/8 of an inch of new material; n. Replace the Virginia Graham Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act (VGB) approved main drain frames and covers - four (4) 9 inches x 9 inches; o. Additional replacements or repairs may be determined upon drainage of the pool and costs assessed by the Contractor at that time. p. Lagoon Water Line Tile: i. Waterline tile shall be of unglazed ceramic tile. Tile shall be an Unglazed Ceramic Mosaic “Standard Grade” porcelain unit 6-inch cushion edge. Tile shall conform to ANSI A 137.1, Section 6. Water absorption not to exceed .5%. Color will be selected by owner. ii. Tile shall be certified by the Tile Council of America (TCA) to be equal to or in excess of Standard Grade Requirements of ANSI A-197. Grouting and setting materials shall be standard materials as listed in TCA publications. iii. License and formula identification shall be indicated on each container. All materials shall be obtained from a single source to minimize variations in appearance and quality. iv. Shall include installation of two (2) 2-feet and two (2) 3-feet depth markers on both sides of Lagoon. v. Cracked coping stones, currently six (6), shall be removed and replaced with like stones. vi. Entry floor tile to Lagoon needs to be removed and replaced.
