A. General Requirements 1. Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and tools necessary to fabricate, deliver, and install two wooden cabinet sets with an overhanging wood structure. 2. Work must be in accordance with the attached cabinet drawings and specifications. Substitutions will not be accepted without prior written approval from the Agency. 3. All fabrication and installation shall comply with Virginia Construction & Professional Services Manual (CPSM) standards, Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, and museum safety requirements. B. Structure Specifications 1. Cabinet sets shall be fabricated to match the dimensions, elevations, and connection details shown in the attached drawings. 2. Cabinet units shall be designed for permanent attachment to existing gallery walls. No freestanding construction will be permitted. 3. Cabinet bodies shall be constructed of engineered hardwood plywood or equivalent museum-grade materials, with solid wood trim and supports where detailed. 4. Overhanging wood structure shall be integrated with the cabinets and built to the drawing specifications. 5. Finishes shall include paint or stain as noted in drawings, with protective Class A fire-retardant coating. 6. All adhesives, paints, and stains shall be low-VOC and compliant with museum standards. 7. Hardware (hinges, pulls, fasteners) shall be commercial-grade with concealed anchoring where possible. 8. Anchors into existing walls shall use appropriate post-installed fasteners designed to avoid damage to existing structural elements. C. Installation Requirements 1. Contractor shall deliver fabricated cabinet components to Jamestown Settlement, 2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185. 2. Contractor shall assemble and install the cabinets onsite, including: • Anchoring cabinet sets securely to existing gallery wall structures. • Ensuring plumb, level, and square alignment of all elements. • Installing and securing the overhanging connector structure as shown in the drawings. • Protecting adjacent walls, finishes, and exhibits during work. 3. All work shall be conducted during museum-approved hours. Contractor is responsible for staging, dust control, and daily cleanup.
