Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Suffolk does not have a permanent homeless shelter that provides emergency/temporary housing for homeless persons in the community. The City has traditionally relied on local service partners to fill this gap in services, especially during the winter months. However, the City was recently informed of a loss of commitments for the upcoming winter season. As such, the City is seeking qualified entities to submit proposals to provide winter shelter services to the homeless population of Suffolk including, but not limited to food, shelter, clothing, and facilitating connections to housing resources and to medical/mental health resources. The shelter will need to be in operation from mid-to-late November through March 2024.
