Specifications include, but are not limited to: The worked performed under this contract will consist of, but is not limited to transporting Bulk Materials. The intent of this contract is to provide equipment with operator, whereas, to provide services and/or other emergencies that may arise. VDOT will make arrangements to provide all bulk materials.; a. Tandem or Multi-axle Dump truck shall have the capacity to haul a minimum 15 tons Tractor-trailer dump trucks shall have the capacity to haul a minimum 22 tons; a. 105.14-Size and Weight Limitations: i. Hauling or Moving Material and Equipment on Public Roads Open to Traffic: The Contractor shall comply with legal size and weight limitation in the hauling or moving of material and equipment on public roads open to traffic unless the hauling or moving is covered by a hauling permit.; ii. The Contractor’s vehicles must have all applicable permits and certifications necessary to haul the required minimum capacity across state lines. Weight restriction may be lifted during a State of Emergency declared by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The VDOT Emergency Operation Center, if circumstances are approved, will be responsible for submitting a waiver to the Department of Motor Vehicle and the State Police. The VDOT Representative will inform the Contractor of how to proceed in such conditions. ; iii. Hauling or Moving Materials and Equipment on Public Roads Not Open to Traffic: The contractor shall comply with legal weight limitations in the hauling or moving of material and equipment on public roads that are not open to traffic unless the hauling or moving is permitted elsewhere herein or is otherwise covered by a hauling. The Contractor shall be liable for damage that results from hauling or moving of material and equipment. The hauling or moving of material and equipment on the pavement structure or across any structure during various stages of construction shall be subject to additional restrictions as specified or directed by the Engineer.
