Clean, Repair and Stain the Visitor Center Siding. Color TBD by park staff The Contractor shall remove or protect items which are not scheduled to be stained including, but not limited to, ground surfaces, block foundation, brick work and shingles. The Contractor shall remove and reinstall all existing devices presently mounted on exterior walls and ceilings as it applies to painting areas, including but not limited to light fixtures, down spouts, etc. The Contractor shall clean, repair, prepare, and stain of all exterior parts of the building. Broken, missing or damaged siding or trim shall be identified with designated park staff and repaired by the contractor. The Contractor shall pressure wash and clean facilities completely in a manner not to damage siding. When possible, an Epoxy Penetrant and Filler should be used to repair small, damaged areas of the siding. Siding that cannot be filled with and Epoxy Penetrant and Filler and made good shall be replaced with like in kind materials. The contractor will make a recommendation to the park staff of the wood (sills, trim, etc.) that need to be replaced. The park staff will make the final determination of what will be replaced after the contractor and park staff agree on the measurements for the affected areas. All nails shall be galvanized or stainless steel, and all nail heads shall be flush with adjacent wood surface. The Contractor Shall prepare stained surfaces per manufacturer surface preparation specifications. The Contractor shall provide Sherwin Williams WoodScapes Rain Refresh stain or park approved equivalent matching color to existing exterior wood stain color. The Contractor shall not apply stain when the surface to be painted or surrounding air temperature is less than 40º degrees Fahrenheit or drop below 40º Fahrenheit within 48 hours. The contractor shall not apply stain in the snow, rain, fog, mist or when the relative humidity exceeds 85% or to damp surfaces. The Contractor shall apply a minimum of two coats of stain. The Contractor shall use matching existing color approved by park staff. The contractor shall provide a thorough cleanup of the work area at the end of each workday. All paint chips and debris shall be collected and disposed of by the contractor. No vegetation shall be permanently harmed. Park areas are open to public daily. Contractor should show care and consideration for public presence and trail use during work.
