The purpose of the sampling program conducted by the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) is to systematically monitor and document the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), hexavalent chromium, and 1,4-dioxane in drinking water sources across Virginia. This comprehensive monitoring initiative aims to assess the extent of contamination by these substances, ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water for all residents. By selecting a laboratory to carry out this essential work, VDH ODW seeks to gather accurate data to inform regulatory decisions, prioritize resources for remediation efforts, and safeguard public health and environmental well-being. VDH will select one laboratory to complete the following work.
