Specifications include, but are not limited to: Content to meet ADA requirements, developed to meet all federally-mandated access requirements under section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. - Site to be built in accordance to the Web Content Accessibility Guideline (Sec. 508) and should be accessible to novice as well as experienced users. Automatically detect mobile device requests and respond accordingly, to include I-devices, Blackberry, Android systems, etc. This needs to include dynamically scaled mobile-accessible versions of site content and a mobile-accessible search engine. - Contractor to closely collaborate with WCC on the organizational redesign of its Web site. - Contractor to provide a minimum of three design concepts for the WCC home page and sample second and third level pages based on the home page designs, with revisions to all concepts accommodated and included in price. - WCCs logo must appear on the home and subsequent page levels. - The design is to be consistent, attractive and reflect the mission of the College. (Photos for the Web site will be provided by WCC.) - The navigation should be logical, intuitive and easy for users to find information. - Design to incorporate easy-to-use menus or other features that help users to quickly understand navigation and locate information with the fewest number of clicks. - The site is to be designed with a balance of text and graphics so that each page loads in 4-8 seconds or less on the average dial-up modem. - Web site must not require plug-ins as a default - Design must have a branded, consistent look and feel throughout the site. - Design to include campus maps and diagrams that depict rooms in WCC buildings so these can be viewed optimally online and readability is ensured when printed. - Design must incorporate use of Cascading Style Sheets to ensure future consistency as well as separation of content and design. - Have a prominent area on the home page for timely marketing messages with photography to promote services and programs and to highlight WCC events, classes, announcements and other information that would be especially important to students or other audiences. This needs to be easily managed through the CMS with feeds to social media tools. - Provide for rotating home page images/content. - Provide a site search tool with the ability to find specific content on the Web site. - Key components on the Web site, including a dynamic calendar system, news, newsletters, and job postings to have the ability for users to filter through content by category. The Web site administrator should have the ability to add unlimited categories, rename existing category names, and delete any unused categories from the list. Any changes made from this component list will automatically be reflected on all category functions throughout the Web site. - The site must be compatible with the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome and Safari. - Design to include styles that can be applied to such elements as text, headers and lists, thereby enabling WCC to create Web pages with a consistent look. - The site must offer the ability for Web site visitors to bookmark and share content among their favorite social destinations on the Web.
