1. City is seeking proposals for a multi-year contract for event staffing to serve in a variety of event related roles/posts including, but not limited to, access control (inside and outside of the VBCC), crowd control, general protection of facility property and persons, and providing general information and other assistance to venue guests. 2. All Event Staff positions are unarmed. 3. Event Staff are primarily under the direction of VBCC staff. A contractor provided Event Staff Supervisor may be scheduled as needed at the request of VBCC staff when a large quantity of contractor event staffing is on-site. 4. Event staff will be needed at varying hours to include early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended work shifts. Event staff are scheduled throughout the year based upon event activity and operational needs. The majority of hours for event staff throughout the year are primarily centered around access control. The estimated number of annual hours is listed in Attachment ‘A’. 5. All Event Staff are expected to, • Welcome and greet guests in the VBCC. Answer questions, provide directions, information and other assistance to visitors in a courteous and professional manner. • Assist with maintaining a safe and organized environment. Observe the surrounding area where they are in the VBCC for any suspicious activity and report any incidents. Understand the VBCC “Emergency Plan” and assist guests during emergency situations including the evacuation of the venue. • Inform visitors of violations of any VBCC or event rules & regulations and monitor compliance. • Ensure proper ingress/egress is maintained so venue exits are clear and unobstructed. • Communicate with other event staff or venue management staff as needed. • Use communication devices and other equipment as needed. • Assist with keeping their assigned areas where they are working clean and organized.
