A CHANGES & SUBSTITUTIONS FOR MATERIALS & PROCEDURES The Contractor may request changes in color codes, exterior component color tone variations, paint and vehicle preparation procedures, or paint techniques; however, all changes must be coordinated with the City's Contract Administrator or appointed designee. CPD has the right to adjust the paint specifications at any point during the contract but shall notify the Contractor in writing prior to or during the appointment scheduling. B VEHICLE TYPES The following vehicle makes and models are either currently in the CPD fleet or may be added in the future: • Chevrolet Cargo Van • Chevrolet Tahoe • Dodge Durango • Ford Cargo Van • Ford F-150 • Ford Utility • GMC Cargo Van C PAINT The vehicle shall be painted two-tone using base coat/clear paint that is equal in quality, workmanship, and appearance to the original factory paint. Every vehicle designated to be painted white shall be painted with Single Stage color code MB 147 – Artic White or equivalent white paint code to Single Stage color code MB 147 – Artic White to ensure matching throughout the CPD Fleet. The front fenders, rear quarters, hood, trunk, and bumpers will remain black; no preparation or painting will be done in these areas. The doors, roof, and window framing (as reflected in the photos) will be painted white. The picture files included in this solicitation shall be standard for CPD unless otherwise directed by CPD to the Contractor in writing. D GENERAL PREPARATION OF VEHICLE The vehicles will arrive without decals or lettering for the Contractor to take off. The Contractor shall prepare each vehicle for painting. The preparation must follow industry standards and the paint manufacturer’s instructions. The Contractor shall provide all necessary painting materials such as masking tape, fasteners, and other items typically available at a body repair shop. Before painting, the Contractor shall perform the following: • De-install/remove all exterior door handles, mirrors, window trim, and other accessories. The Contractor shall re-install removed items according to OEM specifications to ensure proper fit and finish upon completion of painting services. • Rope windshield rubbers for paint preparation and painting. • If applicable, mask off City identification numbers, City logos, and OEM decals that are not required to be removed before painting. • Ensure the black plastic window trim around the windows will not be painted, as it will remain factoryblack. • Ensure all windows are free from paint overspray and the interior from dust and paint. • The Contractor is permitted to mask around the rubberized glazing of doors and windows.
