Specifications include, but are not limited to: i. Contractor shall edge and trim all curbs, sidewalks, and mulch beds. Edging and trimming shall be maintained so there is no encroachment of vegetation for more than two (2) inches onto any curbs, sidewalks, or mulch beds to ensure a neat appearance. ii. The contractor shall weed on an as needed basis. Hand weeding will be limited to tall weeds only, where the application of herbicide is not possible. Weed Spraying shall be carried out as and when required so as to maintain the shrub bed or perimeter of building as weed free as is reasonably practical. This shall be undertaken by means of knapsack sprayer using an approved herbicide only. The use of other herbicides in communal areas must be authorized by ABC Store Manager for that area because of the risks involved to the public who access those areas. Weed growth on the shrub bed area shall always be majorly weed free and always be clear of litter, leaves and rubbish. a. Grounds Maintenance – Contractor shall perform service once every seven (7) days (weather permitting), on an agreed upon service date during the contract period (52 weeks) unless specified otherwise. iii. Maintain weed control at all fencing, curbs, along the building, and sidewalk areas weekly during the contract period. Use of pesticides shall be approved by Contract Administrator. iv. Leaf removal on property on an as needed basis. v. Sweep all sidewalks around the building and parking lot area. Pick-up and properly dispose of all litter and debris from the grounds and parking lot. Empty outside Store trashcans and replace liners. vi. Contractor shall spray and treat all shrubbery/trees dedicated to the Store with an appropriate insecticide on an as needed basis during the contract period. Use of pesticides shall be approved by Contract Administrator. vii. Contractor shall trim all shrubbery as needed to encourage healthy growth and remove any diseased, damaged, or dead parts to ensure a neat and desired appearance. Shrubbery shall be trimmed at appropriate times of year based on shrub.
