Specifications include, but are not limited to:IFB# DOC-16-036 4 of 30 I.PURPOSE TheDepartmentofCorrections’Academyfor S t a f f D e v e l opment conducts training during daytime hours to Corrections employees from around the state. The Academy also has a Housing Unit for participants staying overnight. Uniformed Security Services are required for all hours (24/7) daytime, evening, weekend, and holidays. II. SCOPE OF WORK/DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS (SPECIFICATIONS) A. The Contractor shall furnish fully qualified, professionally trained, uniformed security guard service for the proper security and protection of the Academy for Staff Development staff and property. (The uniform may consist of dress pants, white shirt, tie and blazer or security uniform as approved by the Academy for Staff Development.) B. The Contractor shall furnish uniformed security officers at a minimum of 208 hours per week through the extent of the contract. With the exception of short breaks for personal relief, the Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring continuous coverage for existing breaks, such as meals. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing uninterrupted coverage should the security officer scheduled for duty fail to report for any reason. (see C. below). If the Contractor fails to provide uninterrupted coverage in the instance where the scheduled security officer fails to report to duty and coverage is provided by Academy Staff, the Contractor shall reimburse the Academy for overtime incurred by the Academy. Hours of coverage needed each week: Uniformed Security Officer: (168 hrs./week) Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 a.m. From Friday, 4:00 p.m. through Monday, 8:00 a.m. Uniformed Security Supervisor: (40 hrs./week) Normal hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Other hours/shifts as necessary to properly supervise Security staff with notification to/approval by Academy staff. Coverage for Winter Break
