Turf Fertilization and Weed Eradicate: Fertilization will be performed as outlined below, using the fertilizer ratios and active ingredients noted. Turf areas will fertilized throughout the growing season and treated with a selective herbicide to eradicate broadleaf weeds and crabgrass. These applications will feed the turf areas, control all broadleaf weeds and crabgrass without damaging or yellowing turf. Granular fertilizer must have both quickly available nitrogen and slowly available nitrogen. A. Round 1 Fertilizer with pre-emergent herbicide (ALL SITES). The first application will begin February 1 and be completed by March 1, and be a liquid application with a selective broadleaf herbicide, pre-emergent herbicide and a feeding of 1/2 lb. of at least 50% slow release Nitrogen per 1,000 square feet. The application must control all broadleaf weeds and crabgrass without damaging or yellowing turf. B. Round 2 Fertilizer with pre-emergent herbicide (ALL SITES). The second application will begin March 5 and be completed by April 5 and will be a granular application with a pre-emergent herbicide. The fertilizer will be applied at a rate of 1 lb. of at least 50% slow release nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. The fertilizer ratio will be 10:1:3 or approximate equivalent. The application will control all broadleaf weeds and crabgrass without damaging or yellowing turf. C. Round 3 Granular Fertilizer with 1% Fe (County sites only; no athletic fields). Application will begin April 15 and be completed by May 15. The fertilizer must contain iron and be applied at a rate of 1 lb. of at least 50% slow release nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. and the fertilizer ratio will be 10:1:3 or approximate equivalent. D. Round 4 Granular Fertilizer with 1% Fe (County sites only; no athletic fields). Application will begin August 15 and be completed by September 15. The fertilizer must contain iron and be applied at a rate of 1 lb. of at least 50% slow release nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. The fertilizer ratio will be 10:1:3 or rough equivalent. E. Round 5 Granular Fertilizer (County sites only; no athletic fields). Application will begin October 1 and completed by November 1. The application must be applied at a rate of 1 lb. of at least 50% slow release nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. The fertilizer ratio will be 10:1:3 or rough equivalent.
