A. Location 1/Lot 1 (Eastern Lab, Norfolk, VA) • Two containers are needed, one for recycling and one for trash. Both units shall be eight (8) yard front load dumpsters. The container shall be equipped with side and top doors to allow for either top or side loading and shall be designed to provide rodent-proof, animal-proof and wind proof storage of trash contents. • Recycling container must be able to be always secured (both top and sides). Top should have a front mount automatic dumpster lock provided and installed by the awarded waste management company. The side doors just need shackles on each side, DFS Eastern lab will provide the locks. If the waste management company does not provide a front mount automatic dumpster lock mechanism or equivalent, the waste management company shall not be able to charge DFS Eastern any monetary fee/cost if trash is found in the recycling container. • Trash pick-up shall be five (5) days per week, recycling, once per week. B. Location 2/Lot 2 (Western Lab, Roanoke, VA) • Two containers are needed, one for recycling and one for trash. Both units shall be eight (8) yard slant bin dumpsters. The container shall be equipped with top doors to allow for front loading and shall be designed to provide rodent-proof, animal-proof and wind proof storage of trash contents. • Trash pick-up shall be two (2) days per week, recycling, once per week. C. The Contractor shall always maintain all containers in good repair and appearance. The contract shall: • Repair, re-paint or replace containers as necessary • Provide substitute container(s) when maintenance or repair is being performed on regular container. D. The Contractor shall provide an exchange of container(s) at no additional cost if the agency determines the container(s) are unsightly, damaged or unusable. E. All services shall be performed by persons qualified through training to operate all equipment necessary to remove trash and recyclable material. The Contractor shall insure that its employees are uniformed and identified as such.
