B. The Contractor shall provide two (2) trash containers and one (1) recycling container. All separation of the recyclables shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. These containers shall be designed to be animal/rodent and wind proof. The purchasing agency reserves the right to add or delete containers, as needed at the firm unit prices indicated in the Pricing Schedule. 1. Two (2) 8 Cubic Yard upright containers with top and side openings shall be located at the Norfolk Shop. One (1) shall be utilized for trash generated by the Norfolk Shop and Interstate Maintenance Office, and one (1) shall be utilized for recycling of materials such as, white paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, etc. 2. One (1) 8 Cubic Yard upright containers with top and side openings shall be located at the Bowers Hill Area Headquarters. C. The Contractor shall have the capacity to dispose of debris to include but not limited to fill dirt, topsoil, large and small tree limbs, wood chips, stumps, bagged and loose household trash, mattresses, rubber, steel, furniture, and white goods. Tires and tire shreds will not be disposed of in these containers. D. The Contractor shall disinfect containers not less than once every three (3) months to maintain a healthy, odor-free environment. E. The Contractor shall maintain the containers' material condition to be free from leakage and provide substitute containers when maintenance or repairs are being performed. The Contractor shall exchange containers at no additional cost, at the Agency's sole discretion, if the Agency determines containers are damaged or unusable. F. The Contractor shall locate each container at a site designated by the Agency. The Agency reserves the right to change container locations at any time during the contract period without an additional charge. G. In addition to the regularly scheduled pulls and disposals, all containers shall be available to be pulled and disposed of on an "on call" basis. The cost for additional pulls and disposal of the containers shall be at the same rate for scheduled pulls and disposals as indicated in the Pricing Schedule. H. The Contractor shall provide a driver(s) who possesses a valid Virginia Commercial Driver's license for the type and size of vehicle being operated and an adequate number of personnel on the truck to ensure that trash and refuse are loaded properly and to ensure cleanliness of the trash staging area. The Contractor shall insure that employees are uniformed and identified as employees. I. The Contractor shall provide trucks that are designed to prevent spillage of trash, both during loading and transporting. The container's open area shall be covered to prevent spillage during transport. If spillage occurs the Contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup. J. The Contractor shall properly dispose of all trash and refuse collected from the Agency at a Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) facility or another state approved landfill. The Contractor shall provide evidence that the landfill used has been approved by the Department of Health or the Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Waste Management. The Contractor shall be responsible for the complete recovery and proper disposal of any trash collected under this contract that is disposed of at an unauthorized or illegal site. K. The Contractor shall schedule the day(s) of pickup in advance with the Agency Contract Administrator. Should inclement weather conditions or other problems beyond the control of the Contractor interrupt or delay service, the Contractor shall notify the Agency Contract Administrator of the stoppage or delay and advise of the alternate pick up day. Should a state holiday fall on a scheduled pick up day, an alternate day shall be scheduled with the Agency Contract Administrator for that week. All "on call" pulls and disposals of the containers will be scheduled by the Agency Contract Administrator.
