Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) This specification is intended to provide Hampton Roads Transits (HRT) minimum requirements for motor vehicle towing and flat tire replacement services. b) The purpose of this specification is to provide guidelines and requirements for the required services. These specifications are not intended to encompass all vehicles and all situations that may be encountered by the contractor. When in doubt, the contractor shall contact HRT for instructions. c) The contractor shall provide these services as required due to accident, mechanical breakdown, fire, illegally parked or other situations. Flat tire replacement services shall be provided at the discretion of HRT for heavy duty transit coaches only. d) These services shall be provided for all existing HRT vehicles and any vehicle procured during the term of this contract. Heavy duty transit coaches, thirty, thirty-five and forty foot (30, 35, & 40) length coaches Medium and heavy-duty service vehicles with various types of aftermarket equipment (dump bodies, utility bodies, snowplows etc.) Passenger automobiles, light duty pick-up trucks and vans and cab/chassis with various styles of aftermarket equipment (snow plows, utility bodies, dump bodies, etc.) e) The contractor shall provide tow services for removing privately owned vehicles from HRT property as directed by the HRT Security Manager and take them to a secured holding area. Motor vehicles shall not be removed from any HRT property except as authorized by the HRT Security Manager. f) HRT is a twenty-four (24) hour a day, seven (7) day a week operation. The contractor shall provide these services twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
