Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority would like to receive proposals from qualified, Boston metropolitan area-based providers of economic development and marketing services to promote Fairfax County, Virginia as a business location to Boston metro area-based technology firms planning to expand their businesses to Fairfax County. Companies who should consider responding will have marketing experience with both large and small businesses within the sectors mentioned below. In addition to marketing experience, firms should have a strong network within the Boston metropolitan technology community and with investors that have interests in investing in their own community as well as the Washington D.C. metroplex. The successful candidate or firm will qualify and contact technology companies throughout the Boston metropolitan to identify their potential interest in establishing an office in Fairfax County, Virginia, build long-term relationships with the targeted companies, and develop ongoing interest in Fairfax County as a business location. Major target sectors include aerospace, alternative energy/green technology, biotechnology, defense and homeland security, internet and new media medical devices, nanotechnology, software and information technology, systems integration and telecommunications firms. Additionally, the successful candidate will have contacts within the venture capital community and be able to build relationships with venture capital firms and their portfolio companies.
