B. PURPOSE The Authority is seeking quotes for modification of the 2” and 3” stainless steel pneumatic piping for the rubber inflatable crest gate, or “rubber bladder” at the Sugar Hollow Dam in White Hall, Virginia. Work includes removal of portions of the existing piping within the gatehouse, replacement with new piping and fittings and welding of seams, placement of pipe supports, and sealing pipe penetrations through the gate house walls. Work is expected to be performed in the winter of 2024-2025. Please refer to the attached drawings (Attachment A) for specific information on the work to be performed and the associated required certifications and inspections. C. SCOPE 1. Work to be performed shall be inclusive of any labor, equipment, or materials necessary to complete the required Work as specified. Site cleanup shall be incidental to the pricing provided in the quote. 2. There are four quote items provided in the Quote Form (Attachment B). Quote Item #1 is for demolition of existing piping, fittings, supports, and grout at gatehouse wall pipe penetrations (ball valves to be retained). Quote Item #2 is for installation of new 3” piping, fittings, and supports. Quote Item #3 is for installation of new 2” piping, fittings, and supports. Quote Item #4 is for installation of wall sleeves at gatehouse wall pipe penetrations and filling of voids with grout. 3. The inflatable crest gate will be deflated by RWSA staff and remain offline for the duration of the work. Payment for the Work will only be made after review and approval of the Work by the Owner. 4. Public access to the gatehouse at the Sugar Hollow Dam is not available. 5. The Contractor should be aware that cellular service at this site is limited. 6. Contractor shall provide the Authority with a schedule within 7 Calendar Days following the Notice to Proceed and shall provide at least 14 Working Days of notice prior to mobilization. 7. Contractor shall be responsible for any damage to the RWSA property (including utilities) as a result of this work. All property disturbed shall be restored to pre-existing conditions at no additional cost to the Authority. 8. Substantial Completion shall be achieved within 90 calendar days of Notice to Proceed and issuance of a purchase order. Substantial Completion is defined as having finished the work and submitted all acceptance testing to RWSA, as well as having completed all restoration work at the project sites.
